Mt. Kisco, N.Y. – Dec. 13, 2010 – Following  a  robust launch in 2010 and looking ahead to continued success, National Health Options (NHO), the first healthcare assistance program of its kind designed to offer an affordable, accessible, and comprehensive solution for Americans, employers, groups and associations, continues to build on its reputation for innovative programs and  customer service excellence.

“The problems facing under and uninsured individuals have been a growing concern, and National Health Options introduced its platform of solutions as a viable, cost-effective way to help these people and their families,” says Charlie Falcone, chief operating officer at NHO and co-founder of NHO with fellow industry veteran Richard Lungen. “Each member of our leadership team has spent 20+ years in the healthcare and insurance industries, and collectively we have witnessed multiple changes that created voids in the system.  NHO was designed to fill those gaps with a diverse platform of products that can accommodate people with diverse needs.”

With strong, ongoing interest from the healthcare industry, NHO continues to be of real interest to  stakeholders: Healthcare consumers, employers, Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs)  and the broker community.

Matt Claus, vice president of business development at NHO explains, “We continuously engage in conversations with producers who are seeking new ways to differentiate their offerings and add value.  They clearly have an interest in what NHO has to offer. Our programs are specifically designed to help those who would not traditionally be eligible for coverage, who have been denied coverage or who can’t afford COBRA premiums.  We’re offering a wide variety of options that enable brokers to reach a broad, underserved audience.”

Just a few months after its launch, NHO enhanced its offerings with the inclusion of new wellness features.

Richard Lungen, chief executive officer of NHO, says,  “By adding new wellness programs as add-ons, we keep the programs affordable for those who need the barest minimum of services, while making additional wellness features available to those who want to enhance existing or employer sponsored coverage. I am very excited about a number of enhancements queued up for 2011.”

With the addition of new features and a growing customer list, NHO continues to focus on good service.  Every customer has access to a healthcare advocate and the program is truly simple. There is one dedicated toll-free number that enables members to reach their healthcare advocate, find a provider, or get a question answered.  NHO healthcare advocates can do anything from looking up a prescription discount and calling ahead to a provider’s office to making sure the office understands the member’s coverage or discounts.  They can even walk a customer through filing a claim and they can do it in multiple languages.
